Is It Necessary To Check For Tumours After A Mini Stroke?

My grandmother was admitted into the hospital. She had a CT scan that confirmed she was having mini strokes. My question is they want to run a light scope down her throat to check for (a) tumor(s). Why would a mini stroke have them look for tumors?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

Your perplexity is fully justified, in fact it is not necessary to look for tumor in a case of stroke, there is no relation between the two.

So I can only assume that the doctors either are not sure about the diagnosis or have noticed on examining your grandmother or in her history something which makes them suspect a tumor (again not related to the stroke itself).

I hope things work out for the best.
