Is It Necessary That I Have A C-section Delivery Due To Gestational Diabetes?

I am 36 1/2 weeks pregnant and my baby is transverse. I am 36yrs old and suffers from gestation diabetes, the baby is estimated to weigh 8lbs and is hardly moving, my due date is January 8th 2013 but my doctor has schedule a c section for the 2nd of January 2013 i am extremely uncomfortable what can i do?
