Is It Harmful To Breath Fumes Of House Hold Cleaning Products?

My housemate has a bucket of water with a lot of Mr Clean in it. He thinks there is nothing wrong with leaving the bucket around for days. The smell is very strong and is throughout the house. I told him it is dangerous to keep breathing those fumes. But he says he has been doing it for years. I have asthma and don t want to keep breathing that stuff. Help. Maybe words of wisdom from you will help him change this dangerous habit.

Hello and thanks for contacting HCM. You are right that it is not good to keep breathing the fumes of household cleaning products. They should be sealed up when not in use. Some people can tolerate the fumes better than others. If you have asthma it is important for you to avoid all strong fumes as it can trigger an asthma attack. Please ask him to return the Mr Clean to a closed container when not in use and close it tightly. Good luck.
