Is It Correct Not To Apply Oil Onto The Scalp While On Hair Fall Treatment?

I am 66 years old female and have been going thru major hair thinning problem. Today I met a dermatologist and she prescribed Zydip lotion to be applied on scalp and ferrocon and adgain capsules to be taken. Vichy shampoo to be used and no oil to be used. Does that sound right?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for hair loss. Hair fall can be due to any long term illness or any emotional or stressful event and due to nutritional deficiency or hormonal influence.

I can make out that you are female and after stress and nutritional dysfunction it is quite common to get hair fall because of change of nutritional and hormonal status.

If I were your dermatologist then would have prescribed you tablet containing Acetylcysteine, Calcium Pantothenate, Selenium, Zinc, Biotin, Copper as active ingredients. You can take these vitamins in the form of biotin, calicium pantothenate and other vitamin B complexes.

Your dermatologist has prescribed a good treatment and you can follow the same. There is no need of applying hair oil for hair growth so do not worry about hair oil application.

Take care.
