Is It Concerning In Case Of Pronounced Adam S Apple?
Hi. I just noticed that my healthy 18 year old son has a VERY pronounced Adam s Apple. He has not been sick recently or sustained any injury or trauma to the area. He isn t complaining of any pain in the area or sore throat. I made an appt. with his Primary Care Dr. on Friday morning but the endless possibilities of what it COULD be is going to send me nuts! Any advice? My son is very annoyed with me that I made the appointment.
hello, having a prominent adams apple is not always due to some disease..some people tend to have a big Adams apple because of absence of fat around neck.. it is just the prominence of larynx..less likely that he has some problem at this age.. don't worry.. the PCP will do a clinical exam of his throat and may do endoscopy if required.. mostly it will come negative..
hope my answer helps you if you have any more queries i would be happy to answer..
