Blood sugar of 48 mg/dl is lower than normal, but it also depends on when it was measured. if it was measured after prolonged fasting you need not worry, but if it is measured during less than 12 hours of fasting it is abnormal, you undergo repeated FBS measurement as per standard guidelines, still it is less consult physician for further evaluation and management.
