Is It Advisable To Take Pain Killers When Taking Warfarin?

am a 42 yr old indian male...have had very recent history of dvt in left calf leading to PE..am on warfarin 10mg right now...just yesterday developed a bad catch in the upper left portion in the back..is it ok to take pain killers like combiflam, voveran 50, etc??

Hi,

It is not safe to take combiflam or vovern while on warfarin. Taking combiflam or voveran while on warfarin may increase the risk of bleeding hence these drugs should not be taken together. Ask you doctor to prescribe alternative that does not interact with warfarin such as paracetamol which can be effective for your backache.
