Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Advisable To Consume Meth Before Dental Surgery?
I am having my wisdom teeth and an adult tooth growing horizontally just under my nose removed in 5 days. What will happen if I take crystal meth tomorrow (tomorrow only so it will be out of my system by the time I have surgery). I don't really want to tell the anasthesiologist... I don't take this drug regularly and I'm not addicted... But I take it for recreation every now and then.
I would not advise you to use this drug if you have surgery scheduled after 5 days. You are assuming that it will be out of your system by the time you have surgery, but in many cases, that does not happen. In addition to that, you are planning not to inform the anesthetist about it which will increase the risk of complications during and after surgery. You are putting your own life in danger this way.
Thus, I would advise you to refrain from the use of this drug. As you are not even addicted to it, it will not be a trouble for you not to use it. In addition, please let the anesthetist know the last time you have used the drug for your own good.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
