Is It Advisable To Change Metpure XL 50 With Met-XL-AM (50/5)?

My father underwent bypass surgery in 2005 , now he is taking the following medicines metpure xl 50, ecospirinAV 150. He is diabetic and presently having BP range 140-160/80-100. Now our family physician has changed Metpure XL 50 with Met-XL-AM (50/5) .Is this recommended ?

Yes,you can start taking Met XL Am and stop the previous drug.A new drug, amlodipine 5mg has been added for further control of blood pressure.You can start with the drug and frequent blood pressure monitoring is essential.
