Is Iraqibacter The Same As Gonorrhea?
Hi my husband have gonorrhea. I have myself tested as well and I am negative. So he undergo treatment then after 3 weeks, he is still positive. When I was tested, what I got it Iraqibacter which causes my UTI. Is iraqibacter the same as gonorrhea? how come is not cured after all those antibiotics and shots he got for gonorrhea. Many thanks

Iraqibacter (Acinetobater) that can cause urinary tract infection is completely different from gonorrhea and is not sexually transmitted disease.
Gonorrhea that is not responding to antibiotics raise concerns about resistance to the antibiotics used and different antibiotics need to be administered. This requires evaluation, culture and sensitivity testing. Other causes of urethritis (such as chlamydia) need to be ruled out and treated empirically in most cases as they could be the reason why he is not responding.
