Is Intercourse 2 Years After A Total Colectomy Safe For A Homosexual?

This is an awkward question, but I had a total colectomy in June of 2016 due to FAP. I am also a gay male and my boyfriend and I would like to have sex; I want to make sure it is safe for me to participate in anal sex before we do it. Thank you in advance for you assistance!
