Is Intake Of Phenazopyridine Post Expiry Date A Cause For Concern?

Hi, I just took a 100 mg of phenazopyridine and just realized it was expired in April 2015. I have newer scripts should I take another? Symptoms just came on a couple of hours ago. Have had cystitis all of my life. Just don t want to get sick to stomach but I don t want to risk discomfort getting worse.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Nothing to worry about, drink plenty of water. And if it had to cause any adverse reactions, it would by now. Do not take another pill as yet, and only. If your symptoms get worse then take another pill, but only if you have a fresh stock and not an expired pill.

Best wishes.
