Is Infection During Pregnancy A Cause For Concern?

Hi, I am 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I had diarrhea this morning in the form of watery stool followed by vomiting due to food poisoning. My temperature is 37.4c. I am allergic to penicillin. A blood test showed a mild infection. Should I worry? Should I see a doctor?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion there is a mild infection due to food poisoning.Repeated loose motions and vomitings might cause dehydration so take adequate fluids upto 3 litres, coconut water and electrol powder. The temperature is mildly elevated.Even then if the condition is not improving and fever is increased you might need to consult doctor for the sake of antibiotics.Dont worry take adequate food and fluids to replenish the baby s and your needs.Avoid spicy and oily diet.
