My daughter was 5 weeks pregnant. Her hcg level were 400. Checked a couple of days later hcg level was 200. Sonogram showed no evidence of a baby in the uterus. She was told to go home and that she would have natural miscarriage. After one no miscarriage. She went back to Doctor hcg levels were 1742. No sonogram was done. She then had to have a shot of methotrexate. Went back week later hcg levels had only dropped 12 percent. She was given another shot. No other follow up testing was done. Her husband called Dr. Told her They were going to Paris did any need to be done. doctor said have fun. Second day in Paris she had severe stomach pain went to hospital had 400 cc of blood in her abdomen. Had emergency surgery and removal of left Fallopian tube. Question is should her doctor have done more tests after shots to check for an etopic pregnancy.
