Is Incision And Drainage Necessary To Cure Infected Ear Pit?
My daughter has an infected ear pit, we were advised by her ENT doctor to undergo incision and drainage, is it really need to undergo that surgery considering my daughter was taking antibiotic treatment. Is the operation procedure is safe for a 2years & 3mos old baby?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Dr. Ali's Response
Antibiotics can resolve the infection but immediate relief is possible only by incision and drainage. If your doctor has advised you incision and drainage then he is advising you the best as he can examine your daughter.
