Is Implantation Of A Neoadjuvant In The Breast A Concern?

I am 70 y.o. woman. Without asking my permission, neither even telling me, in the time of core needle biopsy, doctor included in my breast Neoadjuvant. This make my breast immediately shrink pretty substantially. Lab received samples that been taken right before N-t installed. Diagnosis: Infiltrating mammary carcinoma with lobular features. Nothing diagnostic of lymphovascular invasion identified. Doctor insisting on full mastectomy, but I am not agree. My question, is: how dangerous for me if what doctor installed, would continue stay in my breast? My breast looks weird, like there're some different parts in it. Is there any negative influence on my health, if nothing else on my breast would be done? Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Neoadjuvant therapy is effective to reduce the tumor size and can help in the future surgery. The recurrence rate of the tumor is very less in patients who has taken neoadjuvant therapy. Nothing much to worry and your treatment is on the right track.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
