Is Ileo-anal Pouch Made From Large Intestines Normal?
In researching the j-pouch, it is always stated that it is made from the small intestines. However mine was made from a section of my large intestines. Is this rare or unusual? Can the large intestine j-pouch also expand without hurting the pouch. Would an object 1.4 in diameter inserted be dangerous or ill-advised.

It will depend on the surgical margin and anastomosis. ileal pouch are usually performed but pouches made from large bowel are also equally good.
