Is Ii Safe To Continue Taking Claratyne And Prednisolone For Swollen Face Due To Urticaria?

Hi my wife 66 yr old has been diagnosed with urticaria, has had a couple of swelling attacks in the past couple of months. This weekend the left side of her face and lips swelled up., she takes a daily claratyne and took a prednisilone tab. What or who can help to prevent these from occurring ??

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms your wife is suffering from Allergic Reaction to some known or unknown allergens and you need to consult an Allergist who can evaluate her clinically and get allergic testing done by advising blood investigation..

As antibodies are formed in blood against the allergen and investigating about it will help in ruling out the exact allergen..

As of now continue taking Claritin and Prednisolone and if symptoms exaggerate consult Emergency Room as they can administer injectable anti-allergics and steroids for faster relief..

Once the allergen is ruled out preventing exposure to it will prevent outbreak of allergy symptoms..
