General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Gestational hypertension or pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) is the development of new hypertension in a pregnant woman after 20 weeks gestation.
Pre-eclampsia is gestational hypertension plus proteinuria.
Eclampsia is when tonic-clonic seizures appear in a pregnant woman with high blood pressure and proteinuria.
Blood pressure needs to be controlled as both the fetus and mother are at increased risk for many life-threatening complications.
It needs to be monitored closely and all possible measures needs to be taken in time during the time of delivery.
Kindly follow the advise as evaluated and given by your treating doctor.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
