Is Heart Rate Of 91 At Rest In Elderly People Normal?
is resting heart rate of 91 within range for 72 year old man(my dad) . he is taking bisoprolol 2.5 mg. He had a stroke 2 years ago with no noticable afterceffects Thank God. He had his medication altered by hospital outpatients this am after recording 160bpm at 9am. He wants to go out to meet sime fruends is this ok/advisable?!

Increased heart in your caze cant be neglected.so get him an ECG immediately.if ECG is normal with bp normal he can be allowed to go out,if found abnormal you should observe him as it may suddenly lead to arrythmias.Continue his medication if still heart rate high give betaloc by speaking to your doctor.Also check his conscious levels.Give him plenty of fluids.consult your doctor for expert management.
