Is Heart Burn A Symptom Of Pneumonia ?

I am 13 weeks pregnant and four weeks back i had chest pain and dry couch with headache and painful legs. I was admitted in hospital for 4 days and diagosed with brunchopneumonia in first trimester. on discharge I was given antibiotics and a cough mixture. I now feel better but when I eat something hot or spicy I get a heartburn. Is the heartburn symptom of pneumonia?... and how do I know if the pneumonia is cured or not. Lastly will I be able to give natural birth to a health baby with this sickness.

Hi,

Heart burn can be due to antibiotics given for pneumonia. Pneumonia as such rarely causes heart burn unless it is some atypical organism.

Thanks,

Regards,

Dr. Som
