Is Headache, Constipation, Reflux And Abdominal Pain Symptoms Of GERD And IBS?

my 18 year old daughter has a headache, reflux and abdominal pain. No fever, vomiting and able to bend her knees to her chest. She is not pregnant . Some constipation with some relief after passing stools that look normal . I think she may have GERD and IBS. Any thoughts?

Hi,

The partly consideration can be possible with GERD but not surely IBS as per the current narration.

Following are the basic guidelines for your daughter
- allow her plenty of liquids
- high fiber diet with bulk-forming laxative
- check out eye visual accuracy with an ophthalmologist to rule out the ophthalmic cause of headache
- provide balance nutritious diet for all vitamin, mineral support.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
