Is Gonadotropin Deficiency, Related With Lack Of Breast Milk Secretion?

Hello, I have hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. After HMG therapy and IUI, now i m pregnant. 4th month is going on, right now i am taking progestrone support only. I want to know in future will breast milk produce naturally aur i have to take any hormone replacement for that?

Hi,
I presume you have only isolated hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and other pituitary hormones are nornal.

If your prolactin producing cells are intact, you will have breast milk. In pregnnacy, your prolactin levels should be naturlly high. Get a prolactin test now, and if it is elevted, it is likely that your prolactin producing cells are intact . However, prolactin producing cells need some support from estrogen as well. So some estrogen supplement may be required after delivery ( based on your level of Estrogen level)
