Is glucose helpful to gain weight in pregnancy?

My wife now 33 weeks pregnant. But her weight gain is not up to the mark. Her age is now 29 and she gains weight about 5 kg during pregnancy. Somebody suggest her to take Glucose would be better to gain weight for baby. I want to know whether this is ok or any contradiction is there.

Hi I am 30.5 weeks pregnant. This is my 3rd child. The first two children I ate the standard american diet and drank soda and no water. I gained 100 pounds with each of them. We changed our diets before I got pregnant and I was at my lowest weight since I had my 2nd child. We eat alot of fresh fruits and veggies, no meat (we do eat fish and eggs and cheese) and I drink ALOT of water - every now and then I have a regular soda. The first 2 trimesters I exercised regularly. I do not have high blood pressure, no headaches, no throwing up, no blurred vision and no swelling. I did strips to test my ketone level and glucose level today and they were VERY high. What does this mean and what can I do to get it under control. I need to mention that the first 2 trimesters I ate all the time and now my stomach can not hold alot of food - I really don t get very hungry anymore. I gained 15 pounds and I checked my weight again 2 days ago and I lost 5 so this pregnancy I have gained 10 pounds. My stomach is huge but I am losing weight everywhere else - you can really see it in my face.

hi. i m 33 weeks and 3 days pregnant. My doctor diagnosed that I have Impaired Glucose Intolerence and suggested i make some changes in my diet. I now do weekly visits to monitor the sugar levels. It seems like i made the right changes to my diet because my sugar levels have somewhat normalised. however, now my doctor is worried that i m losing weight with each weekly visit? other than the diet changes, could there be other causes of me losing weight at this stage of my pregnancy? what are the implications on my baby as a result of my weight loss? I seem to drop a kilo with each visit. i don t think i gained much weight to begin with. I started out at around 80 kg, now am constantly bumping between around 92 kgs and 88 kgs.

I am 74 y/o male who's been losing weight over the past 3 months. Total weight loss has been 3 kilos for 3 months. I have been constipated and my bowel movements have been irregular but my appetite has never changed and I still eat pretty well. I don't have any abdominal complaints. What could be causing this? I also eat fiber-rich foods but to no avail, I'm still constipated.

Tightening the Tummy Iam 51 years old and weigh 77kgs.Recently I have lost 6 kgs and my weight stabilized at 77 kgs which works out to a BMI of 25 as my height is 5’10”.I maintain regular exercise -aerobics,strength training, abdominal exercises and evening walk of 4 kms.I eat selectively without oil, less Non veg, less sweets, more fruit and water ,steamed vegetables,sprouts,Almonds(4 nos) and 1 egg white. When I go to gym I take whey protein of 30 gms. My problem is with my stomach muscles.Inspite of my exercise and moderate food habits I have a stomach of 36 inches. When I sit down I have to adjust my belt by changing the hole. When I wear underwear I feel very tight in abdominal area.Thats why I stopped wearing underwaear except when I exercise. I consulted a specialist who is into weight loss surgery like gastric band and sleeve who initially suggested to go for liposuction. When I requested for a non surgical solution he offered me a complimentary session on Radio frequency Tripolar machine. He promised that I will loose 2 inches over 6 sittings. For each sitting there should be a gap of 2 weeks. He says the skin also will be tightened apart from fat reduction in the tissues.I have also read that this can be done by Ultrasound Lipolysis and Zerona laser treatments. Please suggest me which is ideal for reducing my stomach sag.
