Is Glaucoma A Hereditary Disease?

My 15 year old boyfriend has glaucoma passed down from his mother who is now blind and his older brother and sister also have glaucoma since his mother passed it down to all of her children i was wondering if he could possibly pass it down to his own children

glucoma is basically increased tension inside the eye ball.
and which due to increased pressure over the retina gradually leads to loss of vision.
apart from heredity it has many other causative factors too.
but YES, it has got hereditary causation.
and in the particular case you discussed, there is clear line of heredity visible, which is strongly suggestive of genetic inheritance.
so yes there is some chances that this can pas down to his own children too.
once thing can be done here that those children should be put to regular examinations and investigations for glucoma, and timely treatment can prevent blindness and other ominous outcomes.
