Is Frequent Use Of Misoprostol Advisable?

Hello doc, I got pregnant last month and took misoprostol on 20.06 to get rid off my 35 days pregnancy.. I bled for two weeks n after that spotting continued till one full month even on 22.07 spotting occurred..The problem is i did nt menstruate this month n wen i went fr pregnancy test it test positive . Wat shld i do.. Reply fast pls

Hello, thanks for posting on HCM.
What you must be having is probably incomplete abortion. In that, though the product of conception must have been removed, but still some part of it or remnants stay back and attached to uterus wall.
That is the reason for causing spotting for so long period and absent period because body thinks that product of conception is still in place.
There are 2 ways for this. You consult a gynecologist who can treat you medically with misoprostol and mifepristone tablets alone. I suspect you have not taken mifepristone tablet as you have not mentioned it.
So if you have not taken it, your doctor may prescribe it to cause complete abortion.
2nd option is to undergo dilatation and curettage. It’s a 1 day procedure where the doctor will scrape out any material still inside with instrument and manually remove whatever is remaining inside.
Both methods will be dependent on the doctor after your detailed examination and after discussing with you.
