Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m having to pee more frequent than usual. I recently got tested for STD s because i had the same symptoms plus burning. I had Chlamydia and was given an antiobiotic. Everything went well. Then I started having sex a lot again with my girlfriend and a day after I m having to pee very frequently with no burning. Could this be a UTI?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Frequent urination could be one of the symptom of urinary tract infection (UTI) but may not be always. In your case, it appears that the infection might be recurring again as you have suggested to having being treated for Chlamydia few days before. It would have been better that your partner also would have been treated simultaneously. Anyway, right now, the condition may not require any medications. Drink good quantity of fluids and take citrus fruit juices. In case you develop other symptom indicative of infection like burning sensation, pain and discharge, you need to consult Urologist for appropriate evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
