Is Frequent Headache, nausea And Vaginal Discharge Sign Of Pregnancy?

26, B, female.1 previous pregnancy which ended in miscarriage. 3 weeks late with pelvic, hip, and navel pain. Frequent headaches, no nausea, increased vaginal secretions, yet 4 negative home pregnancy test. No insurance so I can't afford an unnecessary office visit. Is there a need for concern?

Hi there,
After reading your question, I am of the opinion that:
1) The first sign of pregnancy is missed periods. Unless there is history of missing your dates, there is no need to worry about pregnancy.
2) Headaches and nausea could be due to either migraine or PMS or they might even be unrelated to your menstrual cycles and pregnancy.
3) Increased vaginal discharge, on its own does not indicate pregnancy.
4) 4 negative home pregnancy tests would strongly suggest that you might not be pregnant.
5) However, if you have missed your periods, and suspecting pregnancy, you can go for a simple blood test called serum beta HCG if you really want to confirm.
6) If you cant go for any office visit, my suggestion is that you just sit back and let nature take its course. Eventually, if you are pregnant, you are going to know. So do not worry.

I hope I was able to help you.
Regards,
Dr. Shikha Shah
