Is Forgetfulness Because Of The Side Effects Of Klonopin?

I recently quit taking Klonopin due to the long term side effects. I have difficulty thinking and am so forgetful it s scary. I was told this can be related to Klonopin. I know about the studies related to the elderly and long term benzodiazapenes...my doctor has recommended cognitive therapy. I m only 48 and a very young 48. Are things going to get worse or will they improve?

Hi
Do not be so much stressed out. Long term Klonopin (clonazepam) can interfere in memory and cognitive ability. I hope you have discontinued Klonopin as instructed by your doctor. The reason for initiating Klonopin is not mentioned.
Your symptoms direct more towards presence of anxiety. This is usually addressed by cognitive behavioural therapy. Please do follow your doctor's instructions. All the best. Thanks.
