Is Flying Safe While Suffering From A Subdural Hematoma?
Hi I ve recently done an MRI which confirmed I have sub dural hematoma and I m still hearing the whooshing noise in my head. No TBI nor any falls. No severe symptoms except for slight headaches, light headedness and stiff neck (I have cervical spondylitis since 20 plus age and I m now a 58year old Chinese lady). Booked on a 10 hr flight to NZ this coming Oct. Will the flying and Long flight pose any risk for me? Pls adv. Thank You
Hi! since you have been diagnosed with subdural hematoma you have to continue your medicines regularly. Then of course you can fly. Before flying 1.Apply nasal sprayotrivin and carry along with you. 2.Have some painkiller as prescribed by doctor to avoid headaches. 3.keep sipping water or juices throughout your flight. 4. If you feel discomfort ask for hot water. drink Sip by sip and apply hot napkin that is napkin immerse in hot water and cover your ears. 5. Also you can use some ear drops before flying. These all will help you to tackle with imbalance and change in inflight air pressure. you can fly happily. Happy Journey!
