Is Falling Backward On Lower Thoracic Vertebrae A Cause For Concern?

My 5 year old was trying to reach something on the top of her bookshelf and fell backward hitting her lower thoracic or upper lumbar vertebrae on her bed frame. It looks like most of the impact was to her spine. She is able to move fine but I am wondering If I should take her to a doctor or do anything more than ice. Thank you.

Hi! How hard and how high was the fall? Is she still in pain? if you say she is moving fine then you can just observe her for now.You can apply ice on the area and give her medicine for the pain such as Paracetamol. Try to look at the area to check for bruises or cuts. You can touch it gently to see if there's a bump or something that can make you suspect of a fracture. If you are still worried and you see something unusual then it is still best to have her examined by a doctor. Hope this has helped you. Have a good day!
