Is Drinking Water Unsafe For Someone Taking Coumadin And Is Vinegar An Alternative?

Is drinking water unsafe for someone taking Coumadin? Are there limitations? My friend drinks vinegar for arthritis, and somehow thinks water is not good for Coumadin patients to drink much of. The vinegar has caused gout in her hands! Doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Advise?

Hi
Thanks for your query

It is absolutely OK to drink water if a patient is taking coumadin. You need to check if the doctor has advised any restriction on the amount of water to be consumed, if your friend has a weak heart.

Hope this helps
Good luck.
