Is Discomfort In Chest A Result Of Supraventricular Tachycardia Or Indigestion?

I have slight discomfort in my chest every once in a while. Sometimes it is brought on by lying down and I thought maybe it was indigestion. But sometimes I get it in the morning too, before I've eaten anything. I had an ekg (or ecg? the one with the nodes taped all over) in the fall. I have a family history of heart problems, but I have never had high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I am 31, female. My younger brother was recently diagnosed with an arithmia and my daughter was born with SVT. My father has had many heart scares, but tests always came back ok and the doctor said it was stress related. He also has high cholesterol. Do you think I could have something wrong?

Hello,
Thank you for the interesting question.

The pain you are describing is not typical for indigestion.
Maybe it can be caused by ectopic beats of the heart. I suggest an 24 hour record of the heart electrical activity (Holter ECG) to know if you have a risk of developing supraventricular tachycardia.
