Is Difficulty In Breathing A Sign Of Lung Infection?
Hello, I injured my throat while swallowing food last weekend and it is very inflamed. I am also having trouble breathing since this happened a week ago. I took a cold/flu product with acetaminophen for the sore throat pain but it seems I am having an allergic reaction to the medication. I am restless, cant sleep and have difficulty breathing properly. I have since stopped taking the acetaminophen but still have the side effects. Will these side effects lessen or should I be admitted to the ER for treatment? Also, my throat is still sore and my breathing is difficult. Is the breathing difficulty a sign of a lung infection?

1. although breathing difficulty is a sign of lung infection but in your case, as there is a history of trauma and allergic reaction to the medicine so it could either be:
i. an inflammatory response of the airway [mucosal edema] OR an
ii. anaphylactic reaction to the medicine and in either condition you should visit an ER for proper examination and management.
