Is Diarrhea A Side Effect Of Naproxen?

I am taking Naproxen 500mgs twice daily for biliary colic since November 4th. The pain is much better and I am improving but I have terrible diarrhoea! It started Nov 6th and has continued till today - nearly a week! I am taking Immodium Instants but the diarrhoea continues. I have no pain, no fever. Is this a side effect of the Naproxen? Should I stop taking it? Thank you

Hello
Naproxen is a propionic acid derivatives and potent pain killer .
However in some cases it causes nausea, abdominal discomfort , vomiting ,but it never causes diarrhea 9 exception may be ).
Since you are taking naproxen for biliary colic and also taking immodium for loose motion.,
In my opinion , change naproxen ( after consultation with your doctor ) and take antispasmodic like drotavirine or meberverine after consultation with your physician as these will act in loose motion as well as in biliary colic .
Still no relief in diarrhea then consult your treating physician and get his opinion.
Take curd , rice , bananas , lukewarm water.
Good luck.
