hi sir, iam 19 years old girl, my problem is i did not get my periods last month which use to be on 11/05/2011. when i did a pregency test it was negative and after seven days i did the same and again it was negative, kindly help me what could could be the problem? iam worried.
If you have performed pregnancy test on the urine too early, it may give false negative results. HPT are more reliable about a week after missed period. You may repeat the test on the overnight early morning first urine sample after you have crossed one week after the missed period.
Another alternative and more reliable test at your disposal is Beta hCG test. This test is so sensitive that it can detect the pregnancy even few days before the missed period.
If either of the test confirms pregnancy, and if it is unwanted pregnancy, you may opt for medical termination of pregnancy up to 9 weeks of gestation.
If you are not pregnant, you may take Levonorgestrel pills with the advice of your Gynaecologist to have withdrawal bleeding.
I hope this helps you.
