Is dark brown color stool due to consumption of black beans?

I ate a bunch of black beans. About half a cup full. Can black beans make your bowel movements dark brown in color? I ask because I m on Xarelto and I need to keep an eye on that stuff. My bowel movements are usually light brown and loose. The last two I ve had today, had the beans last night, are dark brown and more solid.

Black stool can be due to food that you consume but most of the time is a sign of the hemorrhage in the upper gastrointestinal tract.

Due to the fact that you are taking Xarelto drug, I suggest you to do a stool test if the symptom continues.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
