Is coughing blood after being hit on the head dangerous?

I got hit in the head tonight playing softball. I had ringing in the ear very dizzy, blurred vision and nausea. That was about six hours ago. Shortly after it happened I noticed that I am coughing up blood, I have not gone to the hospital. Should I be concerned?

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for the query.

You probably cough blood beacuse there was some leison in mouth such as tooth hit or ulcer due to this injury so this is probably moer spitting than coughinhg, there was obviously brain concussion and you should just rest at this point and if symptoms progresses you should visit ER.
Wish you good health. Regards

Emergency Medicine Specialist Dr. Karthik Ravikanti's  Response
Severity of injury needs to be assessed.
Nausea, dizziness, vision. Disturbances, bleeding from ear nose or mouth, loss of consciousness, persistent headache, are few of the important symptoms which mandate a need for ct brain study and a neurosurgeon or an ER physician consultation.
Please consult at your nearest hospital.
