Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter may have sipped alittle bit of bleach but im not sure i turned away for a few minutes while i filled her bottle when i looked top was off and she made a disgusted face.i panicked rinsed her mouth and had her drink water.if she sipped will she be ok or should i take her in she s acting normal it happend 10 min ago.
As per your query your daughter had sipped a little of bleach which could be dangerous because of poisoning as this causes the release of toxic chlorine gas, which can be poisonous.
Need not to panic. I would suggest you to visit general physician once immediately to seek medical help, this is because of fact that sometimes chlorine gas poisoning symptoms could be severe.
You should not to give your child milk or water as this will make difficulty in swallowing for child.
I would suggest you to wash skin with with lots of water for at least 10-15 minutes if there was any physical contact for longer time. Administration of humidified oxygen along with bronchodilators and airway management is the only antidote for this poisoning.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
