Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Constant Ammonia Smell In Nose A Cause For Concern?
I just recently got over a very severe cold/flu. I am 59 years old in pretty good health. After I started feeling better, all of a sudden I started smelling ammonia in my nose. It s nowhere else, just in my nose. Sometimes it seems as though the smell gets in my throat and eyes. It is more ignoring then anything. My sense of smell is very low, because unless I put something right up to my nose, all I smell is ammonia. What can I do? Should I be worried? How long will this last? Thank you.
Hello dear from my opinion I am suggesting you might be developing a liver disease following the ammonia breath you are perceiving yes you deserve to be worried so check in a nearby lab center let them conduct a liver function test to rule out liver disease
