Is Constant Abdominal Pain And Cramps Due To Rogaine Foam?

I was prescribed pravastatin for elevated cholesterol and my hair began to fall out in handfulls. At the suggestion of my Healtcare provider I have been using Rogaine Foam for Women for about ten month with some noticable hair regrowth. I have been experiencing increasing stomach problems with pain, cramping and bloating. This is becoming debilitating. Could this be caused by Rogaine? If I stop the Rogaine and find that is not the case, can I start using Rogaine again and expect results?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Rohan foam is not known to cause abdominal cramps & bloating nausea & vomitting are seen very rarely. I would suggest to get checked by a gastrointestinal to find cause of your problem. You can also stop the use of foam & check for disappearance of abdominal problems & restart it when convinced.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
