Is Complete Bed Rest Needed After Embryo Transfer?

Hello sir/mam... Do I need to take complete bed rest after ET? I mean lying down straight all the time, eating food in supine position, passing urine in bed pan for at least 24 hr etc Should I take bath or not? If yes, when? With hot or cold water? Am I allowed to take head bath?

Hi,

It seems like you are too worried. None of the precaution you mentioned are important- neither needed, nor helpful. Embryo can't fall down whether we are standing, walking, using the wash room or bathing. All that you can do is just avoid strenuous exercise and better to avoid hot bath. Taking a bath as usual, including head is not at all a concern. Definitely you can eat, drink and use the toilet or washroom as usual. Keep relaxed and confident.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
