Is Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia A Curable Disease?
Hello doctor...I want to ask one question...it is about my mom she has tested her C.B.C. on 28.03.17 in that the result is shown that her hemoglobin is 9.10 and her white blood cell is 99.50 and at end it was written chronic myeloid leukemia...so I just want to ask that is it curable ?and what will be the estimate money to be spend for this treatment... yup...its a curable disease.. but one thing more right now only CBC is done.For confirmation a bone marrowbiopsy and cytogenetic study is essential.If she comes out to be philadelphia chromosome positive then it has a a very good prognosis. Expenses depends upon the drug used... like The 3 new drugs, however, have been priced at astronomical levels: ponatinib at $138 000 per year, omacetaxine at $28 000 for induction and $14 000 per maintenance course, and bosutinib at ∼$118 000 per year.
