Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

All the symptoms you have mentioned show that you have anxiety. In anxiety , set of symptoms like palpitations , chest discomfort , dyspepsia can occur , causing your symptoms. There are studies showing fall in potassium levels associated with anxiety. So , probably your main problem is anxiety which is manifested through low potassium levels.

I advise you to visit your Psychiatrist and explain him your symptoms.Careful observation and good counseling will help you treat these symptoms.

Take care.

I have exercise induced asthma and have lately experienced sharp pains in the right hand side of my chest and above my heart on the left. It was so painful it stopped me in my tracks whilst at running training, but after a few seconds or so it went away. However, I also got the same pain whilst watching tv (obviously a non-exercise related activity) and it was really scary. Sometimes I get heart palpitations too but don t know if any of this is linked, should I go to see a doctor? I don t want to be a hyperchondriact or anything like that but it is starting to worry me.

For the past 3 days every so often i get a stitch like discomfort on the left side of my chest directly above my heart. It is difficult to breath in or out whilst the stitch lasts and shocks me when it happens. I used to have this discomfort in my diaphragm when i was younger where i couldn t breath in or out. I am 21 and live a healthy lifestyle but have suffered from palpitations and fainted regularly during my last pregnancy . I have also come over in cold sweats in the past and palpitations have felt like i was going to die at times, although this has stopped in the past year or so. What do you think is going on??? It s definitely not heart burn, i have had heart burn before this is different. Jackie- Trapped wind ? fyi my digestive tract is not up in my chest! David Hh, My left arm feels totally exhausted! and it s gradually getting worse, I have had a pain just below my collar bone (jugular vein) on and off for many years and weakness in my left arm. I think i will definitely see a doctor now. Julie-Ann This is not near any digestive organ, so IS NOT related to it.

Hi im a 36 year old male for the last year i have had chest pain all across my chest more like stabbing pains that radiate from one part of my chest to another part the pain comes and go`s of it own accord and is not affected by physical activites or breathing, i also suffer from regular palpitations,i have seen my doctor i did an ecg which came back as branch bundle block i was then refered to a cardiac specialist who said it was not a heart problem but decided to do an exercise stress test any way, towards the end of the test my heart started to beat very illregular and the test had to be stopped premature i was taken for an ultrasound a few hours later, nothing was found so i was given a 48 hour ecg the results from that indicated some kind of tachycardia,at my follow up app the consultant insisted my tests results are quite normal i have no heart problem and there is not enough evidence to continue to investigate, my bloods are fine my father has suffered 2 strokes and my mother has high bp both grandparents died of heart disease, should i accept this conclusion or should i ask for a second opinion ? or could my chest pain be caused by something else ? thanks

My brother is having a heart cath tomorrow. Apparently he has had a heart attack sometime in the last ten years.

His heart rate has become uncontrollable with meds and sontinues to beat at 131. He said the doctor told him some rate (he couldn't remember) was at 25 and should be higher. Can you perhaps clarify what this may mean?

My father had a heart attack 4 months ago in Russia and after unsuccessful angeoplasty attempt, his emergency doctor had treated him beside other things with Plaviks, Lipitor, Metoprolol-all of which he continues to take todate. Cardio-care is no longer available to him, and he is under immence muscle weakness and pain. His blood test established high levels of creatine. What is his best plan to balance between his heart medications and other health concerns? Can he stop the cholesterol drug and replace it with something else? Thank you for your help.

I live in a cigarette smoking building--I am very allergic to it or sensitive--my heart jumps in my chest at times, then beats up to 120 beats a minute. I'm trying to move, but it's very expensive and I dont have a job. My grandfather died of a heart attack at 78-he was a chain smoker, so not a lot of heart disease on my mom's side. I didnt know my fathers side of the family. Actually my uncle died of a massasive heart attack at 48--Im 47--that was on my mom's side.
