My friend was just diagnosed with stage 4b cervical cancer . The tumor is the size of a volleyball and as spread to her bladder and lungs . Her dr. Says it Has Chance of responding to chemotherapy enough to remove the tumor. Is a fair prognosis realistic ?

Hi and welcome ot HCM. Thanks for the query. Unfortunately I think this is too optimistic and this is not soemthing that should be expected. she should be lucky if chemo prolongs her life for some time but chemot cant shrink such tunors size and such spread malignant disease. Wish you good health. Regards

I am a 42 year old woman who was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer on April 1, 2010. I started radiation treatment and chemo a month later. I received 5 radiation treatments and 1 chemo treatment a week for 7 weeks. At the end of those treatments, I was given a cat scan and was told that the cervical cancer metastisized to my lungs. I no longer received radiation treatments but kept doing my chemo treatments afterward once a month until about March of 2011. During October of 2010, I noticed a new pain developing in my abdomen. Found out tha I had developed radial colitis. I started meds and treatment for that. Shortly after that, in about February of 2011, I noticed that I wasnt able to control my bladder or my bowels at nite. I have never had a problem with neither one even as a child. Why is this happening? Why can I not control it as well as I did before? Is there anything I can do to help this problem? By the way, I am 5 ft. 11 and 155 lbs. And as of now, I am in remission.

my sister has had cervical cancer and it has come back twice now. they did a complete hysterectomy and very heavy internal radiation. now they have found a small tumor that was under a flap of scar tissue. the Dr. said he does not know how the radiation missed it. anyway, she is having surgery ,but they also mentioned juicing to her. What do you suggest?

Hi I am experiencing severe-mild menstrual like cramps on my lower left side but no period. I had the Mirena IUD in for 3 years & after having it removed, I then started using the Nuvaring for about 5 months, & received my period like clockwork the 15th of every month, but haven t had it in place for almost three months now & yet no period & as of a month & a half ago, no pregnancy (only via home pregnancy test), but now I am so worried that like my very first pregnancy that this may be an eptopic pregnancy. Also, I had a pap 5 months ago & it was normal, so my fears of ovarian cancer are kinda at rest. What do you think?
