Is Cellulitis Associated With Staph Infection?

I was hospitalized for Cellulitis last month. I am doing better but my legs are not healing as fast as I would like them to be. I still have a sore that has not healed. They gave me IV Clindamycin in the Hospital. I am 61 years old and female. My question is my doctor did a ANA test and my value was positive. I am wondering exactly what it means to have a value of Positive on a ANA test. I also had Staph infection which I was hospitalized for 6 weeks cause it was inside my body, this happen in 1989. Would the Cellulitis be caused by the Staph that I got over 30 years ag0?

Hello,
You need to continue the antibiotic for cellulitis. A positive ANA test suggests that there is a possibility of autoimmune disorder. A couple of further investigations are required to exactly know the type of autoimmune disease. I suggest you to consult your physician with ANA positive report for further work up.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
