Hi,I am Dr. Joan F. Tryzelaar (Cardiac Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i am 38 yrs old. i had a ultrasound done on my heart 2 months ago. today i got it back. doc told me i have a heart murmur caused by a leaky valve. it is TRACE. should i be worried? and will it go away? and yes i quit smoking today. and can i do cardiac arobics at the gym even if my heart rate goes up?
I understand your concern, and would like to explain that you shouldn't worry about!
A trace valvular regurgitation (leakage) is a trivial finding not rarely seen in normal healthy individuals; it has no clinical significance. So, just relax!
As your cardiac ultrasound has resulted normal, you shouldn't be afraid of performing every physical activity, as every normal individual.
Meanwhile, I strongly encourage you to continue following a healthy life-style and diet.
Hope to have been helpful to you!
Feel free to ask, if you have further uncertainties! Greetings!
