Is Burning, itching And Pink Bumps In Vagina Symptom Of STD?
Hi I once shaved with someone elses razor and then had unprotected sex with a byfriend of mine who i believe could have been sleeping with random men. I did this over 3 years ago. When i first did this i started having burning and itching a little while afterwards and then i had developed small pink bumps around and inside my vaginal hole. This lasted for a week or two and then the bumps disappeared from the outside of my vaginal hole and went further up inside my vagina i think. Now to this day i have never seen any bumps again even since the first time i saw them 3 years ago. But i am still have burning, itching, swelling and chronic slightly smelly vaginal discharge. I have been to two different gynocologists this whhole time and they both say i am STD free. I have been tested for everything under the sun (except genital warts). So if this is no STD, what could this be?
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Itching, scanty vaginal discharge and some swelling is most likely a result of candidal/ yeast infection i.e candidal vulvovaginitis. This is certainly not an STD. If I was the treating doctor I would suggest an OTC antifungal e.g clotrimazolevaginal tablets once daily at night for 7 days. A single dose of an Oral antifungal e.g fluconazole is also curative in candidal vulvovaginitis. Oral antifungals are prescription drugs, therefore, I suggest that you talk with your doctor for the needful.
