Is Burning Sensation In Bladder Area Due To UTI?

I use a water douche every day-ever since about 18 - just a small amount squirted in, and squirt it out. No vinegar or any other additive in the water. Few days back I used too hot water (usually have it luke warm) and followed it with a cool one (as it felt like I burned the first bit of vagina. However last 2 days I have had more frequent urge to urinate (I do drink 10 glasses of water daily) and a slight burn ache sensation in bladder area, and still feels burnt at beginning of vagina. I NEVER get uti s, or any other infections. Im 59 next month - must have been teens if I ever had any infection in lower areas (vagina, or otherwise). I get relief if I put a cold small towel at head of vagina. Is this likely a mild uti - was going to drink cranberry. we fly to Dominican tomorrow for a week. Any advice (other than see a doc). We live in Fla. Its been warm of course. Any advice? or simple otc remedy?

Urologist 's  Response
Hi.
Using hot water for douche could have resulted in burn in vaginal area including clitoris and urethral meatus leading to abnormal sensation which may raise to lower abdomen. This may also result in frequent urination.
I would like u to keep the vaginal area clean and dry. U may apply antibiotic cream topically twice daily and Evalon cream once daily to restore vaginal flora. Also do using routine and culture to rule out any infection. If infection is there, treat it with antibiotics; otherwise anticholinergics like Solifenacin and Tolterodine will help. The peri vaginal sound will heal up in few days time. U need not worry for that.
