My 5 y.o. daughter has burning eyes and fever of 103. somewhat lethargic but responding to my Q & A's. Gave her childrens tylenol 4 hours ago and she seemed fine for a couple hours. Eyes are glassy and burning
Gave her pedialyte popsicle. Could this be the flu? No vomiting or diarrhea.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for writing to health care magic.
I can understand your concern.
Fever may not be just because of flu. There are several other causes as well. Does he have any associated complaints like cough, cold or burning urination or increased frequency of urination etc? These complaints help us to arrive at a diagnosis or a differential diagnosis.

Investigations like CBC, CRP, Peripheral smear for malaria, urine examination may be ordered by your doctor after physical examination.

Continue to ask further queries as required.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
